Legon Cities have been eliminated from the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Division One side Home Stars FC.
The Premier League side failed to advance to the last 32 of the competition after conceding very late into the game.
Cities started the game the better of the sides, creating several goal-scoring opportunities but failing to convert any of the big chances.
With the first half ending in a goalless draw, Home Stars FC will grab the opener and the eventual winner in injury time.
Home Stars FC forward Joseph Tei’s timely finish will put the visitors ahead in the 5th minute of added time. The goal also secured them a place in last 32 of the competition.
Legon Cities will now have to turn their focus to the Ghana Premier League after failing to match last season’s semi-final finish in the FA Cup.
The Royals have been poor in the league campaign so far. They lie in the relegation after 12 games in the season.
They face Bechem United at home on Matchday 13.
