The Ghana Esports Federation (GESF) has congratulated John Mahama on his election as President, expressing confidence in his leadership to drive youth development and esports growth in Ghana.

In a statement from GESF President Igor Boumekpo, the federation highlighted Mahama’s commitment to inclusivity and modernization, values that align with esports’ role in empowering young people and fostering innovation. Boumekpo noted, “Your leadership inspires optimism for a transformative era that will create opportunities for the youth, particularly in the fast-evolving esports sector.”

GESF emphasized the rising influence of esports globally and its potential to contribute to economic and technological progress. The federation also voiced its belief that Mahama’s administration would nurture talent, enhance digital innovation, and elevate esports as a key tool for national development.

The federation’s statement resonates with the broader vision outlined in the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s 2024 manifesto, which includes scholarships for sports talents, investments in lesser-known sports, and equitable support for national teams.
