Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has credited his team’s physical preparation as key to their hard-fought 1-0 victory over rivals Hearts of Oak in Matchday 13 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Albert Amoah’s dramatic 95th-minute goal sealed the win for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, pushing them up to 6th place on the league table with 21 points.
Speaking after the match, Prosper Ogum emphasized the importance of physical readiness against a challenging opponent like Hearts of Oak.
“It’s all about preparing every component of the game, especially the physical aspect when playing Hearts of Oak,” Ogum said. “They come all out to weaken you, and when they get the chance, they score and sit back to frustrate you.”
The victory boosts Kotoko’s momentum as they prepare to face Dreams FC in their next match at the Tuba Astro Turf in Matchday 14.
