Samuel Anim Addo, President of Young Apostles FC, has stated his intention to address the charges brought against him by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee.
The charges stem from Anim Addo’s social media remarks about referee Maxwell Hanson, whom he accused of being the GFA’s “man for dirty works” following controversial officiating in Accra Lions’ 1-0 loss to Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf.
Accra Lions had earlier issued a statement condemning Hanson’s performance and called for immediate reforms in the Ghana Premier League.
In response, Anim Addo, a former Executive Council member of the GFA, expressed his readiness to face the consequences. “I am a law-abiding citizen and respect every rule of the game. When the time comes, I will respond in accordance with the regulations,” he told Joy Sports.
He also alluded to video evidence of the incident, saying, “The video is there for us all to see. If it is good, then that’s up to all of us.”
Anim Addo has until Monday, January 13, to formally respond to the charges.
