Dormaa-based Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars have announced the return of Romanian mastermind Aristică Cioabă as their new head coach.
Cioabă arrived in Ghana to conclude talks for the technical role in Dormaa, aiming to replace Yaw Acheampong, who was dismissed after a poor run of results.
Aduana Stars confirmed the appointment in a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 10, which read: “Aristică is home. Welcome back, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐛𝐚.”
Cioabă has got a good history with Aduana Stars, having first led the team in 2011 when he succeeded the late Herbert Addo.
He then returned for a second stint in the 2015/16 season, and guided his side to finish in second-place in the Ghana Premier League.
The 54-year-old will bring loads of experience, as he has previously managed Tanzanian side Azam FC and Bangladesh Premier League club Police FC.
Aduana Stars are currently 13th on the league standings and will take on Berekum Chelsea this weekend in the Ghana Premier League, hoping their new coach gets the ball running in style.
