AFCON 2025 Q: Black Stars Starting Lineup Against Angola Leaked Hours Before Kickoff

The Black Stars’ possible starting lineup against Angola in their matchday 5 AFCON qualifiers has been leaked hours before kickoff.

The West African giants head into Friday’s AFCON qualifier against Angola in Luanda, needing a win to boost their chances of making it to Morocco next year.

After picking up just two points from their first four games, the four-time Africa champions aim to pick up their first win in a crucial away game against Angola.

Coach Otto Addo was forced to give call-ups to six players after eight players withdrew from the squad due to injury. Osman Bukari, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, and four others have joined the squad for the Angola and Niger clashes.

Several journalists who traveled with the team have confirmed what could be a possible starting eleven from Otto Addo for the game. The news circulating states two local-based players could be handed starting berths in the must-win fixture.

St. Gallen goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati-Zigi is rumored to keep his place as the goalkeeper, while Nations FC center-back, Razak Simpson is also believed to earn his first start for his country.

The Black Stars are expected to face a stiff challenge against Angola at the Estadio 11 de Novembre on Friday. Angola recorded a shocking 1-0 away win over their opponents three months ago on matchday one.

With Niger’s 4-0 over Sudan on Thursday afternoon, a win will be the only preferred outcome for Ghana.

The Black Stars will fail to qualify for the African showpiece for the first time in 20 years if they should fail to win against Angola on Friday night.
