André Ayew Set To Return To The Black Stars

Le Havre forward André Ayew is on the verge of making a return to the National Team the Black Stars as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume in March 2025.

 

Ayew, 35, has been in stellar form for his French Ligue 1 side delivering outstanding performances despite the struggles in the league. The former Swansea City forward scored his second goal of the season and this has resurgened calls for his inclusion to the national team.

 

The Black Stars captain last featured in international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in March 2024. However, Ghana coach Otto Addo controversially excluded Ayew from subsequent squads, including the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Some reports indicates some figures are lobbying for the inclusion of André to the national team, emphasizing his leadership and experience will be important to for Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
