La Liga leaders FC Barcelona were stunned by Las Palmas at home in a 2-1 defeat at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from former Barcelona man Sandro Ramirez and the in-form Fabio Silva were enough to give the visitors the much-needed win at the expense of Hansi Flick’s men.
Raphinha was also on the scoresheet as he grabbed the equalizer, yet it was not enough to save his team on the day.
The defeat for the Catalan giants means Barcelona have failed to win a league match in three successive games and could be dethroned off the standings should Real Madrid win their two games in hand.
Barca manager Hansi Flick stated in his post match interview that “the team are lacking the cutting edge and ability to control games”, and this is a worrying situation that needs to be reversed if the Blaugrana want to keep their title hopes alive.
Up next in La Liga, Barcelona take on Mallorca away from home before another crucial game at the Benito Villamarin against Real Betis.
