Ghana’s women U-17 football team the Black Maidens, have been placed in Group A of the WAFU ZONE B U-17 Girls cup.
In Group A is Ghana, Benin and Burkina Faso for the inaugural WAFU Zone B girls cup in Accra.
The draw was conducted at the WAFU Zone B headquarters in Côte d’Ivoire and marks a key step in the resurgence of the Black Maidens, who have been inactive on the international stage in recent years.
This tournament will serve as a platform for the U-17 team rebuilding efforts and preparation for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Maidens have been in an intensive five-week training camp in Bibiani.
The tournament will take place in Ghana from 12th to 26th December 2024
