The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is moving swiftly to appoint a new head coach for the Black Queens following the departure of Nora Hauptle.
Hauptle, whose two-year contract expired recently, has since taken up the role of head coach for Zambia’s Copper Queens. Her exit has left the women’s senior national team without a coach, prompting the GFA to act quickly.
Speaking to Asempa FM, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum disclosed that the process to recruit a replacement is already underway.
“The Ghana Football Association has begun the process of appointing a new head coach for the Black Queens after Nora Hauptle’s departure,” Asante Twum confirmed. “We are seeking a competent coach to build on what Nora achieved, especially as we prepare for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). This appointment will be expedited to ensure the new coach has ample time to understand and develop the team.”
