The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is scheduled to meet Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on November 27, 2024, to review his technical report on Ghana’s disappointing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
This meeting will also assess the overall performance of the technical team since Addo’s reappointment in March 2024.
Addo, who signed a three-year contract during his second stint as head coach, has been under heavy criticism after Ghana failed to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
Since his return, Addo has managed only two wins in 10 matches.
However, Ghana has shown glimpses of recovery in the World Cup qualifiers, where they currently share the top spot in Group I after crucial victories over Mali and the Central African Republic.
The AFCON qualifiers painted a bleak picture, as the Black Stars went winless in all six matches, finishing at the bottom of Group F.
This unprecedented failure has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for the dismissal of Otto Addo by the GFA.
In response to the AFCON fallout, the GFA has already dissolved the Black Stars Management Committee after a meeting on Wednesday, signaling the beginning of a restructuring process.
The upcoming meeting with Addo is expected to be pivotal in shaping the future of the national team as they prepare for the next round of World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
