The second transfer window and player registration for Ghana football opened at 12:01 AM on Monday, December 23, 2024, and will close at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
From December 23, 2024, through the end of the year holidays and into the New Year until January 22, 2025, clubs in the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division, Women’s Premier League, and Regional Football League will have the opportunity to strengthen their squads by acquiring new players as well as transferring out players they no longer need.
During this one month, all clubs in Ghana can register the players they wish to use for the second half of the club football season.
With only 5 points separating Hearts of Lions, the current leader of the Ghana Premier League, from Accra Hearts of Oak, the 7th-placed team in the league table, this transfer window promises to be exciting and potentially chaotic as teams prepare for the second half of the 2024–25 season.
It is important to note that many talented players may leave Ghanaian clubs for foreign leagues due to the ability of Ghanaian clubs to develop exceptional young talents. Clubs can also send or sign players on loan during this transfer window. However, any player signed during this period must be registered before the window closes to be eligible to play.
Once again, the second transfer and registration window for Ghana club football will close on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Any deals that are not signed and registered before the deadline will have to wait until the end-of-season transfer window opens.
