Australian 16 year old athlete, Gout Gout, has ran 200 metres in 20.04 seconds at the Australian school championships beating the national record which was held by Peter Norman since the 1968 Olympics.
His run was initially marked at 20.07 seconds but was later revised to 20.04 seconds.
With this, he has become the fastest 16 years old ever.
The 16-year-old Australian also clocked the fourth fastest ever time by an Australian in the 100 metres heats with a time of 10.04 seconds
He focused on breaking the 10-second barrier in the 100m and the 20-second barrier in the 200m.
He will also be focusing on the 2032 Olympics which take place in Brisbane where he grew up and will be 24 years old by then.
