Hearts of Oak staged a dramatic comeback to edge Accra Lions away from home in Sogakope on match day 14 of the 2025 Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts opened the scoring on the day through Hussein Mohammed before the hosts restored parity and went ahead after 73 minutes of action.
Two late goals from Mawuli Wayo were enough to grab all three points for Aboubakar Ouatarra’s side as Hearts were pecked back by the hosts for most parts of the game.
Hearts of Oak now sit in sixth place on the league standings, two points behind rivals Asante Kotoko and five points behind leaders Hearts of Lions.
The Phobians have only suffered one defeat ( against Kotoko) in their last seven matches and will be aiming to make a strong case for themselves in the second round of the campaign.
