Inaki Williams delivered a masterclass on Wednesday, scoring twice to secure Athletic Bilbao’s 2-0 victory over Fenerbahce in Istanbul, a result that vaulted them to the top of the Europa League standings.

The Ghanaian forward struck both goals in the first half, extending Bilbao’s unbeaten run in the competition to six games. With 16 points from five wins and a draw, the Basque side sits three points clear of Lazio and Eintracht Frankfurt, who are in action on Thursday.

This triumph marked Bilbao’s sixth consecutive win across all competitions, underscoring their red-hot form. Inaki Williams, the elder brother of Spain international Nico Williams, has been a pivotal figure in their success.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce find themselves struggling at 15th place in the 36-team standings with just eight points, as their Europa League campaign falters.
