Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has launched a new “Pathway” project—an initiative intended to empower Ghanaian youth in pursuing their dreams in football and any other sector.
Frimpong visited Ghana during his Christmas holidays and shared his vision for the project while he joined in on a heartwarming community football event in Dansoman.
Speaking in an interview with local outlet 3Sports, Frimpong said : “It’s all about the youth because they are the future. We want to help them with not only football but with anything they want to be. Pathway is like a company where you have people provide services. Young people like to play football, so we have that in mind.”
Frimpong was one of the key players for Bayer Leverkusen in their historic unbeaten run and Bundesliga title win last season.
To him, there’s lots of optimism about the abundance of talent in Ghana, and he is hoping his Pathway initiative will aid in nurturing promising talents to pursue their dreams.
Many more stars from Europe continue to visit Ghana and make an impact this December.
One recurring theme that is seen is the desire by many of these accomplished stars to groom young talents and prioritize football at the grassroots level.
