Joseph Painstil, the LA Galaxy and Black Stars winger, has opened up about how he balances his love for music with his football career. The 2024 MLS Cup champion has built a budding music catalog, with tracks like Unbreakable, Without You, Make You Sing, and his latest hit, Blessing.
Despite his growing presence in the music industry, Painstil insists football remains his top priority. Speaking to 3Sports, he explained that he only works on music during the offseason to avoid distractions during the competitive season.
“When the season starts, I have to really focus on just football,” Painstil said. “If I try to split my focus, it won’t be good for me as an athlete.”
Painstil’s music has resonated well with fans, particularly at LA Galaxy’s home games, where his song Blessing has become a part of the matchday atmosphere. The winger experienced a career highlight when he performed the track live during the team’s victory parade at Legends Plaza, with fans singing along in celebration of the championship.
“It’s a great feeling knowing that they appreciate my music in the United States, a music powerhouse,” he shared. “Hearing my song in the stadium and seeing fans connect with it makes me feel truly accepted.”
