Joseph Paintsil scores as LA Galaxy beat Red Bulls to win MLS Cup

Share

Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil scored the opener in LA Galaxy’s 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday as his side were crowned champions of the 2024 MLS Cup.

Paintsil beat the opposition goalkeeper after a fine pass was afforded him to grab the lead for his side on the day.

The Ghanaian winger then dedicated his goal to LA Galaxy midfielder Riqui Puig, who tore his ACL days ago.

The lead was then doubled four minutes after when Dejan Joveljic’s found the net before Sean Nealis pulled one back for Red Bulls in the 27th minute.

LA Galaxy held onto the lead and managed to see out the game, earning the win.

The efforts of Joseph Paintsil with LA Galaxy in the MLS this season seems to be going great, and he will be aiming to add even more accolades to his locker.
