Kotoko beat Gold Stars to secure fourth straight win with 2-0 victory

Kumasi Asante Kotoko secured a fourth straight win on matchday 15 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars on Friday night in the return of Kwame Opoku.

The Porcupine Warriors continued their fine run and opened the scoring through captain Justice Blay, who converted a penalty after 20 minutes of action.

Kotoko continued to entrench themselves and looked the more threatening side as the game progressed.

Kwame Poku then went on to grab the team’s second in the 73rd minute in his first appearance since rejoining the club for a second spell to ultimately seal the win.

Poku’s goal brought loads of joy to the home fans and underlines how crucial he is to the team in their pursuit of league glory and how big the win also is for Kotoko.

Kotoko now sit in second place on the league standings moving into the other half of the campaign.
