Despite an injury-limited campaign, Lionel Messi delivered a league-leading 36 goal contributions, scoring 20 goals and providing 16 assists in just 19 appearances. His contributions helped Miami secure the Supporters’ Shield, the club’s first major honor.
Messi’s MVP recognition also makes him the 10th South American and fifth Argentine to win the award, joining the likes of Diego Valeri and Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
