Max Verstappen, the Red Bulls Formula 1 driver, is the 2024 Formula 1 world champion and a four-time world champion in Las Vegas. George Russell, the pole-sitter, and seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton earned a one-two finish for Mercedes.
The Dutchman, Max Verstappen, won all his 4-time world championships consecutively from 2021 to 2024 and has won 62 grand prix across 10 seasons.
The current World Champion Max said in his interview with Sky Sports, “It feels great, of course. I mean, it’s been a very long season. Many races, many good races but also many tough races. It was all about optimizing, trying, sometimes, to limit the damage. But at the end of the day, just very proud of what we have achieved.”
Max said this after the Sky Sports reporter asked him if he had doubts about winning the championship: “I mean, I never really liked to believe so, but of course, at times, it looked very tough. I didn’t want to give up at all. That’s not how I am anyway. At times, it was not easy with the car and the clear lack of pace in places, but we managed to get the best result out of it or sometimes even more than what we deserved. Most of the time, you create your luck, and I think that’s what we did most of the time.”
George Russell also won last night’s Las Vegas Grand Prix from Lewis Hamilton
as he converted the pole position into victory with a commanding performance during last night’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The British Mercedes driver Russell got away well off the line to take the lead into Turn 1. After fending off an attack from Charles Leclerc, the fast-starting Ferrari rival, Russell took control of the 50-lap encounter.
Lewis Hamilton also had a masterclass performance as he moved from P10 to P2, just like his fellow Mercedes colleague Russel.
Russell leads Hamilton by five seconds and behind them is a battle for the final podium with Sainz third, Leclerc fourth and
Verstappen fifth.
