Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo marked his debut for Plymouth Argyle with a solid performance in their FA Cup third-round victory over Brentford.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Championship side in the January transfer window after leaving Swedish club Elfsborg, was handed a starting role on Saturday. Baidoo played as part of an attacking trio alongside Callum Wright and Morgan Whittaker and was on the pitch for 60 minutes before being substituted for Mustapha Bundu.

The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Morgan Whittaker struck to secure a 1-0 win, eliminating Premier League side Brentford and advancing Argyle to the next round. They are set to host Liverpool in what promises to be an exciting fixture.

Baidoo’s debut win comes at a crucial time for Plymouth Argyle, who are battling at the bottom of the Championship table. The Ghanaian midfielder will be hoping his arrival can contribute to a turnaround in the club’s league campaign.
