Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has revealed the inspiration behind his goal celebration using a traditionally crafted elephant stool during West Ham’s match against Brighton. Kudus, known for his iconic “take a seat” celebration, added a cultural twist after scoring the equaliser at the London Olympic Stadium.

The former Ajax star explained that the elephant stool, a symbol of traditional authority in Ghana, was his way of showcasing his heritage.

“The stool is from Ghana,” Kudus said post-match. “A lot of people are copying my celebration now, so I had to do something unique to stand out and showcase Ghana.”

The creative gesture drew admiration from fans and highlighted Kudus’ pride in his roots. Despite recently serving a five-game suspension, Kudus has been impactful, with three goals and an assist in 12 Premier League appearances this season.
