Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso is reportedly eyeing a move back home to compete for Hearts of Oak, as he looks to revive his career.
The Phobians are looking to secure the deal with the player in the winter transfer window, aiming to bring experience into their locker room.
Since January 2024, Wakaso has been without a club after his stint with Chinese side Shenzhen FC.
The last competitive match he played was on August 23, 2023, and it left him sidelined for more than a year due to recurring knee injuries.
Wakaso, who has struggled with knee pain has been training in Ghana and it has prompted Hearts of Oak to take a good look at bringing him in.
A source close to the club revealed that the Phobians plan to place Wakaso on a training schedule to prevent his injuries from recurring, as they look to make a strong fight for the title in the second round.
To Hearts, Wakaso’s experience will count for lot and his signing now looks possible in the coming days.
