Brazilian star Neymar has announced that the 2026 World Cup in North America will mark his final appearance on football’s biggest stage. The 32-year-old forward, currently recovering from injury, expressed determination to give his all for one last shot at World Cup glory.

“This will be my last World Cup, my last chance, and I will do everything I can to play in it,” Neymar told CNN in a recent interview.

Brazil, struggling in South American qualifiers, currently sit fifth in the standings but remain optimistic about securing a place. “I have faith in the team and the young players emerging,” Neymar said, adding that Brazil has the time to improve before the tournament.

Despite his recent setbacks, including knee surgery and a hamstring injury, Neymar remains focused on returning to peak fitness to represent Brazil. “I want to be there and will work very hard to achieve that,” he emphasized.

Neymar also hinted at the possibility of reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami. While acknowledging his current happiness at Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, Neymar admitted that football often brings unexpected opportunities.
