Following the meeting of the executive committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on the future of Otto Addo as head coach, reports indicate that the former Borussia Dortmund scout will be keeping his job.
The executive committee of the Ghana Football Association held a meeting to decide the future of Addo after Ghana’s disastrous 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign, and there have been no reports of a plausible sack as of Wednesday, November 27.
After Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, Otto made it clear he has no plans to leave and played down talks about resigning, insisting he is here to stay as he has a strong mentality in dealing with difficult situations.
“I’m not a person who can resign. If I had done this, I’d never have become a player or even a coach”, he said.
Addo apologized to fans after his team’s failure, and said that he is ‘sorry for the current disappointment’ and is aiming to reverse the situation for the better.
“I am ready to apologize. I am so sorry that we did not do well and qualify. I am sorry because I know all Ghanaians are hurt. I am so sorry.”
Many on social media have been displeased with the lack of action by the GFA and other authorities amid Ghana’s concerning and woeful performances in recent times under Otto Addo.
