Ghana’s record goal scorer Asamoah Gyan has revealed he faced issues in camp as captain of the Black Stars as some players were brainwashed in not rallying behind him.
On Thursday, January 2, Gyan took to Instagram to hold a live session where he opened up about issues surrounding the national team as well as some current happenings.
“The kids would come into the team. They are all excited to see me then three days later, they would be avoiding me all because they have been brainwashed”
Gyan went on to further state that the issues affected him as he felt a deep sense of loneliness as captain.
“In my time as a Black Stars captain in the National team, I felt alone. I only delivered on the field”
One other aspect of his outburst on Instagram that has gained traction on social media is his revelation on his relationship with former teammate Andre Ayew, whom he seems to have drifted from in recent years.
Gyan says lies were widespread within the camp by ‘evil’ people who only prioritized their selfish interests and it has ultimately contributed to the fall of the Ghana’s men’s national team.
