Sika Korabea has won the 2024 Standard Chartered Cup – SC 2024, after beating Ghana Link 2-0 on penalties at the Ghana International School park on Saturday November 30, 2024.
The 5-aside annual tournament saw eight Corporate clients and Employees compete, not only for bragging right but also for a paid trip to watch a Liverpool FC home game match and a tour of the Anfield stadium.
In the final game which couldn’t be decided in regular time, Sika Korabea, a Tema-based company won in the thrilling shootout to lift the giant trophy.
Asiedua Addea, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand, and Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, spoke about this year’s competition.
“It’s just been amazing. I think the teams came, they knew very well what the prize was, you know, going to Anfield is exciting and they put in their very very best. We saw teams really played very great football here And it’s been an exciting day for us here”.
She added that, “She wishes team Sika Korabea all the best as they go to Anfield”.
The SC Cup 2024, which was exclusively for Standard Chartered clients, featured eight teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals, with Sika Kroabea ultimately taking home the coveted prize.
The trip to Anfield initiative has been running since 2015.
