Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has reaffirmed his commitment to playing any role needed to support the team after featuring as a right-back in their recent match against Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.
The Ghanaian international, typically a central midfielder, stepped into the defensive position to cover for the suspended Jurrien Timber. Partey has been deployed in this role multiple times this season due to injuries and suspensions within the squad.
Speaking after the game, Partey expressed his willingness to adapt for the benefit of the team.
“I’m a professional, and I’ll play everywhere to help the team. I’m available to play in any position, and I’ll always do my best,” Partey told the club’s website.
He added that he is focused on improving in his newfound role:
“If I can do much better and improve, I’ll be happy. These are moments when the team needs me, and I’m really happy to help the team all the time.”
Arsenal now shifts focus to their EFL Cup semifinal first-leg clash against Newcastle United on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium
