Jonina Ladies continued with their impressive form in the 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League with a resounding 2-0 away win over Police Ladies.
The win over Police Ladies means Jonina Ladies are the only team in the Southern Zone with a 100% record this season. It was also their fourth consecutive win after four match days.
The visitors have been on some incredible form since the start of the 2024/25 Women’s Premier League season. Recording wins over Berry Ladies, Halifax Queens SC, and Soccer Intellectuals in the opening 3 games.
After a dominant start to the game, Jonina FC grabbed the opener in the 27th minute through Eunice Kpenteey. The attacker’s pinpoint shot managed to find its way past the Police Ladies goalkeeper.
The visitors continued to press for a second and soon will be rewarded with one in the injury time of the first half. Agnes Yeboah’s lovely finish giving her side a 2-0 cushion heading into the break.
Police Ladies’ efforts to pull level in the second half proved futile despite the head coach’s decision to bring on several attackers.
The win for Jonina FC means they remain unbeaten this season in the league. They also boast of a 100% record heading into their Matchday five clash against Faith Ladies at home.
